Checklist - Applying for a Thesis at BGD

Formal and Personal Requirements

  • You are a TUM Student at TUM School of Engineering and Design or TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology
  • You are used to work autonomously and take care of the deadlines in your study program.
  • You are willing to be present at the professorship in Ottobrunn for some occassions during your thesis.
  • For a thesis at a company: Check if the company ever worked with TUM. If yes, let the company supervisor contact former TUM supervisors first before contacting us!

Application

  • Apply directly with a potential thesis advisor. You may find this advisor
    • on the thesis topic examples or
    • you can identify them through their personal interests, previous supervised work or published research on their personal webpage.
  • For all application for a thesis always include the e-mail eduhub.bgd(at)ed.tum.de in CC.
  • The application should include:
    • The topic and type of work you are applying for. If you do not have a topic in mind yet, line out what you want to work on and what you do not want to work on.
    • The time period you want to conduct the work.
    • A description of fitting skills and capabilities for the project (e.g. Programming Languages, Software, Hardware, …).
    • Your current academic records (e.g. a transcript).
    • A CV.
  • Don’t:
    • Copy paste your application.
    • Send the application to all people at the chair (we will notice).
