Checklist - Conducting a Bachelor or Master Thesis
Before the Start of the Thesis:
- Project Plan (2-4 pages) including motivation, state of the art, research questions, work packages, a time plan and a risk analysis.
- Kick-off meeting with your advisor to discuss the project plan.
- Kick-off presentation in the Research Seminar including your research questions and planned project outline (at most 5 min (BT) or 10 min(MT)).
- Definition of a submission date and a date for the final presentation (Presentations are generally only possible after the submission of the written report and within the lecture period, not during semester breaks).
During the Thesis:
- Official registration of the thesis in the online portal (, ) together with your advisor.
- Active interaction with the advisor and other researchers at the chair during in presence work in Ottobrunn.
Completing the Thesis:
Completing the thesis includes a written report and a presentation about your scientific work.
- Written report:
- Presentation
- 15 min presentation (BT) or 20 min presentation (MT) in the Research Seminar + 5 min discussion
- Try to not use more than 15 slides (BT) or 20 slides (MT).
- Slides have to be done in PowerPoint and should be submitted at least 24h before the presentation to your advisor.
